In 2013 Kimmins was awarded the Countryside Hospital Central Utility Plant project by Skanska, the Construction Manager. The owner, Bay Care Health Systems, and Kimmins have maintained a great relationship while collaborating on three other projects.
This project consisted of complete site, utility, earthwork, and roadwork. The Site Work included the excavation and embankment of over 14,000 cubic yards of material. The site excavation consisted of the entire pond bottom made up of solid clays and unsuitable materials as well as the deep excavation needed for the footers of the new retaining wall. The retaining wall was 600 linear feet long and at its highest point 20 feet tall. The utility work was comprised of the installation of storm piping from 6 inches to 36 inches totaling about 600 linear feet.
This work also included a 20 foot deep sanitary lift station with 220 feet of 4 inch PVC force main and 600 feet of 8 inch DIP fire line and water main.
